Ghost exits at Corner

Colfax Police were advised at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday of a report from an unidentified caller on the west side of the state who said her husband was driving northbound between Colfax and Pullman with a ghost in the car. The ghost reportedly was pointing out to her husband the way to Colfax, the woman caller said.

Colfax Officers Bryce Nebe and Robert Wride were placed on the lookout for the vehicle, said to be a Chevrolet Tahoe. At one point, the Colfax officers made an unsuccessful attempt to secure the number of “Ghostbusters” from the dispatch center in case a backup would be needed, according to Assistant Chief Dave Szambelan.

The case file was closed when the Colfax duo received a subsequent report that the woman had received an update from her husband who said the ghost had climbed out of the Tahoe at the Corner Chevron.

Subsequent sightings of the ghost in Colfax were not reported, Szambelan said.
